Beta 3 is out. I actually worked on this version a while ago, but never got around to releasing it.
  • Z80 Bugfixes, Aztec Adventure and further titles now work
  • 10-15% Speed Increase
  • JavaGear is now released under the terms of the GNU General Public License
  • Source Code Release (Contact me if you can help with JavaGear)
  • Other Minor Fixes, that will probably go unnoticed!

Get it from the downloads page.

As promised, I've uploaded my dissertation/report that accompanies the JavaGear project to the documents section of the site. Be warned, it's quite a large download (4.1MB PDF) and is over 70 sides long!

I hope it will be of use to those of you getting into coding emulators. I'd be interested to hear from anyone else writing an emulator for a University project.

So.... long time no update! What's been going on?

Well... firstly, I completed my degree. Good news all round - I gained a first class degree, and JavaGear received a stonking 83%, so I was really chuffed. (I then spent a month celebrating this, ahem!)

I've now left university, and am searching for a job (offers accepted, I have excellent toilet cleaning abilities). This week I will be doing the following:

  • Releasing a new version of JavaGear which is faster and more compatible.
  • Releasing JavaGear's source code under the GPL
  • Releasing my dissertation in Acrobat format (70+ pages of fun)

This is good news all round, and I've also been talking to the creators of the Java multiple game emulator Cottage, who have offered to help me continue the project. I apologise for the lack of updates lately, but I have been incredibly busy with social and academic life. Expect more frequent updates soon.

Thanks for your support!
